Charity Coleman is a writer and editor with an interest in the receptivity between art and language. Her commissioned texts in response to visual art have appeared in numerous books, exhibition catalogs, and other publications, including A Queer Anthology of Healing (ed. Richard Porter: Pilot Press, London); Headless Woman with Parrot (Caitlin Keogh: Triangle Books, Brussels); [a partial list of falling] (Nathlie Provosty: Hassla Books, NY); I Seem to Live, Vol. 2: The New York Diaries, 1969–2011 (Jonas Mekas: Spector Books, Leipzig); and the Richard Diebenkorn Foundation’s online Visual Critic Series. Reviews and critical writings have appeared in Artforum (2019-2022), BOMB magazine, and elsewhere. She writes communications and development copy for leading arts and cultural institutions, and advises individual artists on effective writing practices. She received her MFA in Writing from Bard College (Annandale-on-Hudson, New York).
